The XXXIII Rossini Opera Festival will, as usual, centre round three main productions, side by side with the Festival giovane (Youth Festival) and the traditional programme of symphony, vocal and chamber concerts.
The highlight will be "Ciro in Babilonia", one of the last remaining Rossini operas not yet staged in Pesaro. The other new production will be "Il signor Bruschino", to be staged with ground-breaking new techniques. The third title, "Matilde di Shabran", the 2004 cult production, will be revived with an almost entirely new cast save for the irreplaceable Juan Diego Flórez. The singers in the three productions will, as always, be a mixture of international stars and young singers specializing in bel canto.
Nearest airports are Rimini [40kms] and Ancona [80kms].
